N98 Means Sophistication

November 6th, 2008

A lot of Nokia aficionados are head over heels for the new N98. This 16th model of the N series comes with a huge touch screen display that is somehow similar to the iPhone though the prototype is more on Nokia 8600. A few credible sources gave a hint that the phone operate in Symbian S70 3rd edition software and it is packed with impressing features such as graphic accelerator, 3.5 Inch touchscreen, 7.2 megapixels camera and with Carl Zeiss optics.

Here are some of the specs for this recent phone model:

  • Outstanding 7.2 megapixels camera that contains Carl Zeiss lens;
  • Multimedia Support;
  • Huge touch screens which measure about 3.5″;
  • 5x optical zoom (about 20x digital zoom);
  • GPS module;
  • TNT module (Télévision Numérique Terrestre - otherwise- TV broadcast);
  • Symbian 3RD edition;
  • Wi-Fi (b,g,n)
  • Video recording for 30 frames per second at 720×576;
  • 3D graphics accelerator;
  • HSDPA

Although not mentioned, it is almost certainly that the N98 is going to employ microSD memory cards in order to permit user to store more files than the usual capacity and the battery charging may last for about 12h.

Having all of these features, the N98 will definitely hit the market like a storm. The black color exudes the real meaning of “sophistication” hence a lot of people; both young and old will for sure go crazy over it. With this, there is no asking why this phone is the talk of the town right now.

A little guide to writing an ebook

October 31st, 2008

Decide on a catchy, yet meaningful title for your eBook. Be careful that your title doesn’t misrepresent your eBook’s content. The last thing you want is to tarnish your reputation as an author by exaggerating the claims of your eBook with your title or in your marketing pitches. It’s always better to under-promote and over-deliver.

Decide on how many pages you want your eBook to have. The nice thing about eBooks is that they don’t have to be very long. 25 - 40 pages is quite common for eBooks. After you finish writing your eBook, be sure to have a couple different individuals proof it for errors. Typographical errors are so common nowadays, but that doesn’t make them right or acceptable. Numerous typos in books or eBooks always leave a poor reflection on the author. Once you have written your eBook and have it laid out in an easy-to-read manner, you will need to convert it into a .pdf or an .exe format.

Once you’ve finished producing and pricing your eBook, you need to develop a marketing strategy. The are literally hundreds of ways to market your eBook, so implement a variety of methods. I would also suggest recruiting affiliates to promote your eBook. Provide your affiliates with tools such as banners, articles, and even a list of keywords. Affiliate participation and success will depend on the quality of your eBook and the promotional tools which you as the creator provide them.

Things to conisder when purchasing a MP3 Player

October 23rd, 2008

There are just so many MP3 Players out there now a days that its hard to know what to buy. If you don’t know what you are looking for, you might end up buying the wrong MP3 player. First off make sure the MP3 player is compatible with the computer it will be connected to for downloads. For example, some models will not work with a Mac computer. Here are some things to consider when purchasing one.

Make sure that the MP3 player’s volume is loud enough. It is ideal if the volume is loud enough to be listened to in a noisy surrounding. Find out what is the memory size is, how much songs can you fit in to one player. Or how many hours can it fit on to the player. Is the user interface easy enough for you to navigate and comes second nature? or dose the interface make you think twice? How long dose the battery last for the player? Dose it come with a charger, and how long dose it take to charge the player?

Other features that now come with payers are fm/am radio receivers, recording radio and voice, alarm clocks, displaying track title and artist. You should check and see is if it comes with software and cable to connect to your computer. You might think its a giving but it really isn’t I have purchased player before with no cable or software. Finally make sure you like how it looks and feels if its not attractive or doesn’t feel comfortable you won’t use it.

Google Android Smart Cell Phone

October 15th, 2008

It seems only yesterday Google released its beta version of Google Chrome the latest addition to Web Browsers with the hypnotic tag line “One bar for everything”. The dust on this latest addition to the Google product line has barely even settled and yet Google have done it again with their G1 handset released on 23rd September by T-Mobile.

As always, Google has created a new standard in technology by offering this unique open-source mobile O/S known as Android. That makes the G1 phone the most accessible yet. Conventional phones have limited access to the functionality and even the look of the Operating System but with the G1 Android system you will be able to get up close and personal with the source code and make it your own.

The Android phone features a large, clear 3.2 inch TFT-LCD touchscreen with 320 x 480 (HVGA) resolution, and a trackball with enter button for navigation. The hinged screen covers a slide-out keypad that’s actually a full 5-row QWERTY keyboard. It also comes with a 3 megapixel camera with built-in autofocus.

The G1 offers full web browsing capabilities with one-click Internet access. If you live in a metropolitan area when you can take advantage of T-Mobile’s high-speed 3G service, you can surf the Internet lightning-fast. For those not in a 3G network area, you can hook into any Wi-Fi connection and view the same webpages, including those rich with content like videos on YouTube.com, with slightly more loading time.

The Android phone uses Bluetooth connectivity, contains a GPS system, an SD slot, a motion sensor, even a digital compass, and weighs all of 5.57 ounces. But it’s the operating system, and its means of accessing the Internet, that sets the G1 apart from the crowd. Google’s open-sourced Android operating system gives anyone with the knowledge to do so free reign to create applications for the phone. No other system gives users this license. And with your G1, you’ll have one-touch access to the Android Market, an online center that brings together all the applications created for Android. Users can purchase and download applications at will and even rate each application. Those who create the applications simply register, upload the application with a description, and publish it at the site for distribution. Google anticipates this to be one of the key draws of the Android phone.

The G1 comes with one-touch access to Google applications like YouTube, Google Maps, the calendar, Google Talk, and Google search, as well as free access to Gmail, Google’s popular free online email service. Amazon.com has also partnered with the G1. The Amazon MP3 store comes pre-loaded onto the Android phone so those with a Wi-Fi connection can easily purchase and download digital music.

Features of this great new phone include the notable web browser Google Chrome with smooth touch screen action. One of the most exciting features of this phone is the built in support for Google Maps. Enter your friend’s address in your phone book and with a touch of the screen you can instantly see on Google Maps the location of their house. You have no excuse to get lost with the G1, simply switch to street view to have a look at nearby landmarks and streets on your way. It may take a little while for you to explore this phone completely but with so many great Google features packed into just one phone it’ll be a pleasure not a chore.

Wii mote helps surgeons improve their training

August 25th, 2008

Research was underway in Phoenix to create a surgery-practice application using the Wiimote.  Well they have finished the project and built a system that works just as well as a high end simulator but for a fraction of the cost.  This new simulator that they are testing with the Wiimote has improved residents’ skills in certain procedures by 50 percent.  Woot! Go Wii GO!

Here is a quote from an interivew regarding the wiimote system they created.

One of the problems we’ve had over the years is we had no method to teach surgeons surgical skills without going into surgery,” said Dr. Mark Smith, a co-developer and a gynecological surgeon at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. “We now have simulators that help them develop those skills. The problem is they are incredibly expensive — like a flight simulator for a pilot. This gives us a much less costly way to train these fine motor skills that the surgeons employ during surgery.

Why Switch to VoIP

August 7th, 2008

Internet phone service is a must have especially if you are making most of your transactions on the phone or with people abroad because with this VoIP service you may opt to use web dialing, click-to-call, and softphone. This is convenient to you and the caller because the number you will be using is a regular phone number, a series of services that a regular phone service cannot provide.

Ordinary phone service is risky and expensive because oftentimes, there are anonymous calls and questionable fees that get inserted in your telephone bills. The annoying thing about this is that you are made by these companies to pay for a service which is unsecured. They would even charge you even for the minute services like call waiting, caller id, call barring, telephone conference, installation which are supposed to be free given the high cost that they are demanding from us. Another frustrating thing about ordinary telephone service is that it suffers occasional drop calls and static which you still have to pay for. And when it comes to disconnecting your service, they act as fast as the lightning strikes but when it comes to repairs or reconnecting, they are sluggish than snails. And sometimes it feels like you have to pay them for waiting for having your line repaired or reconnected because you are being charged extra aside from the bill. Staying with an ordinary phone service is madness!
